What Infra Membership Means to You

Infra was organized in 1944 to promote and protect the interests of crushed stone producers located or doing business in Missouri. Today Infra represents all construction aggregate producers and our full-time staff work just four blocks from the state capitol. In addition to our efforts with community and public relations, our main focuses are legislative affairs, environmental regulation, and workforce development.

Legislative Issues

One of the most important functions of the association is its involvement in legislative issues.

Through Infra, members take a united stand on proposed environmental regulations, employment law, safety regulations, transportation funding, taxation, and a variety of other topics. Staff often testifies before legislative committees, as well as making individual contacts with elected officials at both the State and Federal levels. The Infra Newsletter keeps members informed about important bills that have been introduced.

Environmental Regulation

Another area that has become of increasing importance is environmental regulation.
Infra is active in many environmental issues that have the potential to affect our industry. The most important are air pollution control, water pollution control, and land reclamation. By necessity, this is the area in which the association staff devotes much of its time. The Infra Newsletter keeps members informed about these issues and the association’s Environmental Committee meets regularly to give feedback to state regulators and discuss ongoing issues.

Infra Meetings

Industry issues and information are discussed at the association’s two annual gatherings.

The Annual Meeting & Convention is held in December and the Summer Business Meeting is held in June. Webinars, workshops, training sessions, and committee meetings are also held on an as-needed basis. Infra operates under compliance with applicable antitrust laws. New members are provided with our Antitrust Policy and Guidelines. Attendees at all Infra meetings are reminded of these requirements.

Board of Directors & Committees

Infra’s policies, actions, and budget are established by the Board of Directors.

Infra’s policies, actions, and budget are established by the Board of Directors. Nominees are selected to give the board representation from large and small operations with consideration given to maintaining a broad geographical distribution. Nominees are voted on by the entire membership at the association’s Annual Meeting.

Equally as important as our leadership, the “heart and soul” of Infra is its active committees. These provide valuable insight that guides the association’s priorities throughout the year. Infra’s committees meet at regular intervals and include the Convention Committee, Environmental Committee, Safety/MSHA Committee, and the MoDOT Cooperative Committee. Infra has also established an Emerging Leaders program to foster leadership development in the association.
